Citrus gala promotes local produce

Stalls displaying value-added products and progressive farming.

HARIPUR:

The University of Haripur (UoH) and Agriculture Extension Department jointly organised the first Ghazi Citrus Gala, at Family Resort Hotel, Tehsil Ghazi.

A large number of university students, citrus growers of Tehsil Ghazi, farmers and entrepreneurs from different parts of the country were present at the event.

Various Agriculture research organisations, members from the agricultural, food and beverages industries, farmers, citrus growers, banks, private companies, entrepreneurs, students from colleges and local communities participated in the event.

Stalls of citrus, food, seeds, pesticides, fertilizers and other agricultural products were presented in the event. The general public including families also attended the gala.

The event embraced leading private companies from across the country that highlighted cutting-edge agricultural products and technologies.

Stalls displaying value-added products and progressive farming, especially one which was from District Attock, attracted the attention of many officials and the general public.

Additionally, a technical session was also arranged for the participants. The Vice Chancellor emphasised on the need to introduce new spheres of research and entrepreneurship.
