Anti-encroachment, inflation force launched
The Punjab government has formally set up a special force named the "Punjab Encroachment Regulatory Authority Force," to combat encroachments, hoarding and inflation.
The Maryam-led government has also approved the immediate recruitment of 519 officers for this force, with the hiring process set to be completed by February 15.
The relevant authorities have invited applications from educated young men and women by January 26. Among these positions, 299 will be for Encroachment Officers (BS-14) and 220 for Investigation Officers (IOs).
This new force will have separate police stations at the district level, and the recruitment will be carried out at the divisional level.
The authorities will hire 99 officers, both males and females, for the Lahore division, 77 for the Rawalpindi division, 36 for the Gujranwala division, 53 for the Faisalabad division, 33 for the Gujarat division, 45 for the Multan division, 54 for the Sargodha division, 24 for the Sahiwal division, 52 for the Dera Ghazi Khan division, and 46 officers for the Bahawalpur division.
In the first week of February, new police stations for the new force will be established in each district, and a total of 900 lower-ranking personnel will also be recruited for the force.
