3,374 killed in 15 years in Balochistan

For over 700 damaged properties, compensation of Rs507.2 million was provided.

Over 3,374 people have lost their lives in terrorist attacks in the past 15 years in Balochistan.

The Balochistan government has provided financial assistance exceeding Rs6.88 billion to the victims of these incidents. Over the last year and a half alone, more than Rs1 billion has been disbursed as compensation.

In 2010, the Balochistan government had decided to compensate the victims and cover property losses caused by terrorism. According to documents from the provincial Home Department, from the fiscal year 2010-11 to date, Rs6.88 billion has been paid as compensation to the families of deceased individuals, injured persons, and those who have suffered property losses.

Out of this amount, Rs5.32 billion was paid to the legal heirs of 3,374 deceased individuals, including government employees. Additionally, Rs1.05 billion was distributed among 3,952 injured.

For over 700 damaged properties, compensation of Rs507.2 million was provided.

The government faced its highest financial burden in the fiscal year 2016-17, disbursing Rs1.18 billion, while Rs1.03 billion was paid between June, 2023 and December, 2024.

On August 8, 2016, a large number of lawyers had been killed in a deadly attack and their heirs paid Rs10 million each.
