Snoop Dogg's recent tribute to Martin Luther King Jr. has sparked renewed criticism over his performance at Donald Trump's inauguration event.

On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the rapper shared a post on Instagram featuring clips and quotes from MLK, accompanied by emojis of praying hands and the U.S. flag. However, his tribute has drawn negative reactions, especially from those questioning how MLK would have viewed Snoop’s apparent endorsement of Trump.

The backlash stems from Snoop’s performance at the January 17 Crypto Ball, where he joined Rick Ross and Soulja Boy in honoring the president. This move has upset many in the rap community, with critics recalling Snoop’s past condemnation of Black artists who performed at Trump’s inauguration in 2017.

Additionally, in 2014, Snoop had praised Trump for pardoning a former Death Row Records associate. In response, Snoop posted a new track titled “Unfollowed U,” suggesting his stance on the ongoing controversy.
