Earlier in the day, Melania attended the inauguration ceremony wearing a custom double-breasted navy coat by New York designer Adam Lippes, paired with a matching boater hat created by American milliner Eric Javits.

Lippes shared an Instagram post celebrating his work, saying, “The tradition of the presidential inauguration embodies the beauty of American democracy, and today we had the honor to dress our first lady, Mrs. Melania Trump.”
He added, “Mrs. Trump’s outfit was created by some of America’s finest craftsmen, and I take great pride in showing such work to the world.”
During her first inaugural ball in 2017, Melania stunned in a white silk crepe gown by Hervé Pierre, featuring an off-the-shoulder neckline, a slit skirt, and a red ribbon at the waist.
She later donated the gown to the Smithsonian’s “First Ladies” exhibit, continuing a tradition that has lasted over a century.
At the donation ceremony, she described the process of choosing her outfit as “a daunting task,” noting that it would become part of the nation’s history.
Pierre, a former Carolina Herrera creative director and longtime stylist for Trump, had just two weeks to design the dress in collaboration with the first lady.
Melania reflected on the experience, saying, “I have had a passion for design from a very young age and had a very precise idea of what I wanted for such a historic evening.”
