Mystery of Melania’s hidden face at Trump inauguration

Melania Trump’s appearance at her husband’s inauguration has sparked mixed reactions, particularly regarding her choice of attire and the way she wore her hat.

For the inauguration ceremony, the First Lady chose a custom double-breasted navy coat by American designer Adam Lippes and a matching navy and white wide-brimmed boater hat by Eric Javits. She completed the look with black leather gloves and blue suede Manolo Blahnik pumps, which perfectly coordinated with her husband’s navy coat.

While Melania’s fashion choices often garner praise, this latest ensemble has drawn attention for the unusual way she wore the hat. The wide brim cast a shadow over her face, obscuring her eyes entirely. Paired with oversized sunglasses, her appearance had a mysterious, almost spy-like quality. Some social media users admired the boldness of the look, calling it “gangster chic” and praising her confident style. 

Others, however, expressed disappointment over the obscured view of her face, with one commenter saying, “I wish we could see Melania’s face,” while another questioned the design, asking why it covered so much of her features.

The designer, Eric Javits, worked closely with Melania’s team to create the hat, though he never met the First Lady in person during the design process. 

Despite the mixed reactions, Melania’s fashion choice certainly captured attention, emphasizing her distinctive style and the public’s ongoing fascination with her image.
