First cat category at dog show delights pet lovers
A first-ever cat show, introduced at the PGSDC Landesgruppen Dog Show, received an overwhelmingly positive response from pet lovers.
A young visitor, Ibrahim Faisal, expressed excitement about the cat show and said, "We also have Persian cats at home. It was great to see a cat category included this time. If we had known, we would have brought our cats too."
The dog show organised by the Pak Kennel Club in collaboration with PMAS- Arid Agriculture University featured over 200 dogs representing 50 different breeds, including Golden Retriever, Pointer, Alsatian, German Shepherd, Belgian Shepherd, Husky, Bulldog, Boer Bull, and American Bully. Each dog, accompanied by its trainers and owners, showcased remarkable behaviour and unique skills.
German Shepherd competitions were a highlight, where the dogs displayed their stamina and agility as they walked and ran with their trainers in specially decorated arenas. The crowd cheered enthusiastically as the majestic German Shepherds impressed with their tricks and obedience.
Siberian Huskies, a favourite in the cold January weather, captivated the audience with their beauty and charm. Children and adults alike were drawn to these stunning dogs, many of whom stopped to take selfies with them.
One of the standout moments was when the owner of a Siberian Husky named "Badshah" shared her joy at her dog winning first place. She mentioned that Huskies thrive in winter but require special cooling arrangements during summer.
Organiser Imtiaz Shah highlighted that the primary aim of the show was to provide entertainment and raise awareness about pet care. Families and pet owners who attended praised the event as a delightful way to spend a Sunday holiday, calling for more such recreational activities in the future.
