Ziarat receives first snow of winter season
The mountainous northern parts of Balochistan, including Ziarat, received the first snow of the season late on Saturday.
This has prompted youngsters to rush to the province's hill stations to enjoy the freezing cold weather.
The Levies Force and concerned departments' personnel have been deployed on main national highways leading to mountain ranges to cope with the situation arising from the closure of roads due to the snowfall and rains in order to maintain the smooth flow of traffic and prevent public hardship during their travel.
The Met Office has forecast mainly cloudy, rainy, windy weather and snowfall for parts of Balochistan, including Quetta, Mastung, Ziarat, Killa Saifullah, Zhob, Surfab, Kalat, Harnai, and its surrounding areas during the next 24 hours.
The Met Office also reported that snowfall was recorded in Ziarat, the mountains around Quetta city and Sariab.
Rainfall has also been recorded in Dalbandin, Chaman, Pishin, Quetta, Samungli, Sariab and RMC, Nokkundi, Muslim Bagh, Kalat and Panjgur.
