A sub-inspector of Kahna police station has been suspended following allegations of torturing a citizen, confirmed a spokesperson for the Lahore police.

The action was taken after DIG Operations Faisal Kamran took immediate notice of the incident.

According to the police spokesperson, the suspended officer was found involved in abusing his authority and mistreating a citizen, reportedly for personal gain.

Further legal action and a departmental inquiry have been initiated to ensure strict punishment for the sub-inspector if found guilty.

The inquiry also revealed the involvement of Majid Shah, identified as a tout, and two individuals claiming to be journalists in the case.
