Victim shifted to hospital with head injury

JARANWALA:

A train driver was injured after children pelted stones at then locomotive while playing near the railway track near Bhaiwala.

According to local officials, the injured driver was shifted to a hospital after urgent medical assistance.

The officials said the children pelted stones at the moving train while playing near the railway line near Bhaiwala on Jhumra Road.

The train driver suffered a head injury.

The area police reached the spot and started an investigation into the incident.

Meanwhile, a man was killed after being hit by a motorcycle on Jaranwala Road. The accident took place in the Saddar area, where 50-year-old Shaukat, a resident of Jhang Mehndi Shah, was crossing the road when he was knocked down by a speeding motorcycle ridden by 19-year-old Talha, a resident of Gulshan-e-Rehman Town.

Both Shaukat and Talha were injured in the collision. They were shifted to a hospital, where Shaukat succumbed to his injuries.

The police reached the spot and took possession of the body, which was hander over to the family of the victim after the completion of legal formalities.

In a separate incident, a case has been registered against a police officer who failed to submit case property in court.

As per the FIR, Sub-Inspector Afraz Ansar, stationed at Jaranwala Saddar police station, allegedly neglected to submit crucial evidence pertaining to a narcotics case, hindering the prosecution's ability to present witnesses in court despite four months passing.
