Roseanne Barr has made waves with her latest endeavor, a controversial pro-Donald Trump rap video titled Daddy's Home. Collaborating with Canadian rapper Tom MacDonald, Barr sports blond box braids, gold chains, and sunglasses as she raps about political victory and takes jabs at her critics.
The song, filled with provocative lyrics such as, "We won, you mad, it's done, too bad," features MAGA-themed imagery throughout. Barr even gets her own verse, declaring, "They try to cancel me and say I’m a racist. I got a mean hook, they can’t get me with that jam." She continues, "Screw Eminem, I’m Roseanne," directly referencing the famed rapper in an apparent attempt to start a feud. The video also includes moments of Barr flipping off the camera and shaking her backside.
This marks another chapter in Barr’s tumultuous public image. Her reference to being "canceled" likely nods to the backlash she faced in 2018 after a racist tweet targeting Valerie Jarrett, a senior adviser to former President Obama. The incident led ABC to cancel her rebooted sitcom Roseanne within hours, with network president Channing Dungey calling her statement "abhorrent." The show later returned as The Conners, excluding Barr, whose character was written off.
In the years since, Barr has aligned herself with conservative figures, stirring controversy with inflammatory remarks, including bizarre claims about the Holocaust.
The Daddy's Home video has sparked mixed reactions, with many criticizing its tone and others supporting Barr’s unabashed approach. As Barr proclaims in the song, "This Granny’s going bad," it seems she remains undeterred by public opinion.
