ISLAMABAD:

Mahmood Khan Achakzai, the head of an alliance of opposition parties, has condemned the conviction of former prime minister Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi in a corruption case, announcing that they will approach every forum against the accountability court's order.

Addressing the media after a meeting with Awaam Pakistan Party leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in the federal capital, Achakzai said the court verdict in the £190m case was condemnable.

"The PTI founder [Imran Khan] can come out of prison by today by assuring the government that he will not do anything against it. However, we do not need such freedom. We will win this war through public support," said the politician.
