Kid Cudi’s Los Angeles-area home became the site of an unusual burglary amidst widespread wildfire evacuations.

According to TMZ, the rapper’s security system captured footage of an unidentified man inside his residence around 5 p.m. on Wednesday.

Authorities say the intruder helped himself to Cudi’s food, used his bathroom, and took a shower before deputies from the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department arrived.

When officers reached the home, the shirtless suspect was found in the kitchen and promptly arrested. He now faces charges of felony burglary and theft of utilities.

The individual’s bail has been set at $150,000. It remains unclear whether any damage was caused or items stolen during the incident.

Kid Cudi has not commented on the break-in but recently took to Instagram to share updates on his evacuation due to the devastating wildfires.

“Had to evacuate my crib,” the rapper wrote on January 8. “I’m safe with my loved ones. Dogs are safe. For all the folks who lost their homes, people that are dealing with this, my heart hurts for you, and I’m praying for us all. I send ALL my love to you and yours. If you have to evacuate, get out immediately. Don’t hesitate. Be safe, L.A. Love you guys.”

The wildfires have left a trail of destruction, claiming the lives of at least 27 people, burning over 60 square miles, and destroying approximately 12,000 structures.

Among those affected are celebrities like Jhené Aiko, Paris Hilton, and Tina Knowles, who lost property to the fires.

In the wake of the disaster, more than 50 people have been arrested for crimes linked to the wildfires, including looting, burglary, and impersonation. Federal and local authorities have launched the Joint Regional Fire Crimes Task Force to investigate and prosecute these offenses.

“We will not permit victims to be re-victimized,” stated United States Attorney Martin Estrada. “The Joint Fire Crimes Task Force is committed to addressing crimes coming out of the fires, including any looting, arson, illegal drone flights, and fraud.”

Los Angeles District Attorney Nathan Hochman echoed this sentiment, warning criminals against taking advantage of the crisis. “We will arrest you, prosecute you, and seek to punish you to the full extent of the law,” Hochman said.
