Amid the devastating LA wildfires that caused widespread destruction across California, one car enthusiast managed to pull off a heroic rescue of his rare Porsche 911 S/T.
As the fires swept through expensive neighborhoods, threatening homes and vehicles alike, this car lover rushed to save his prized possession before the flames could consume it.
In a last-minute dash, the individual and his friends used a Ford Raptor to move the Porsche 911 S/T to safety. Before heading out, he swiftly disconnected his Tesla from the charger and pushed it to the side. The scene was frantic, as the team scrambled to secure the rare sports car while leaving the Tesla behind.
"The rescue seems quite a bit rushed and we are assuming that this was a last minute thing that they did before the flames engulfed the house," the report states. While the Tesla was left behind, it’s clear the Porsche 911 S/T was the priority.
The Porsche 911 S/T is a collector's dream, with only 1,963 units produced worldwide, making it an incredibly rare find. It features a 4.0L flat-six engine similar to the 911 GT3 RS, but with a manual transmission rather than the PDK gearbox.
Known for its driving experience and enthusiast appeal, this car is not just a piece of automotive history but a treasure that few can get their hands on.
The hero's escape was quick, but the devastation surrounding him was heartbreaking. Around 25 lives were lost to the fires, and thousands of homes were destroyed, leaving many families homeless.
While the rescue of the Porsche was a small victory in a disaster of monumental proportions, it highlights the lengths some are willing to go to protect the things they love, even in the face of such overwhelming danger.
