Renowned Pakistani music composer Zulfiqar Ali Attre has passed away after suffering a heart attack. He was 61.

Attre, known for his extensive contributions to the Pakistani film industry, composed music for over 50 films during his illustrious career. His ability to craft timeless melodies earned him a devoted fan base and the respect of his peers.

His final project as a music director, Welcome Punjab, remains incomplete, with filming currently underway. Attre’s work, however, will continue to resonate in the hearts of music lovers and filmmakers alike.

In 2024, the Government of Pakistan awarded him the prestigious Pride of Performance, recognising his significant impact on the country’s cultural landscape.

His funeral prayers will be held at 1:00 PM today at his residence, 304 Khyber Block, Iqbal Town, Lahore.

The Pakistani film and music fraternity expressed profound grief over his passing, describing him as an irreplaceable talent whose creativity inspired many.
