Ihsanullah to represent Multan Sultans

He was not picked by any franchise in the HBL PSL 10 draft

Fast bowler Ihsanullah who was not selected in the recent draft for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 10, has been offered a huge opportunity by Multan Sultans owner Ali Tareen.

Ihsanullah will represent the Sultans' departmental team in the upcoming President's Cup Grade Two tournament this season.

Tareen reached out to the pacer on Wednesday and offered him a job, marking a significant step in their collaboration.

The right-arm pacer will play for JDW in the President's Cup Grade Two tournament in April/May, and the Multan Sultans have extended their support by allowing him to use their facilities to regain full fitness and form.

The franchise team is committed to working with Ihsanullah to bring him back for the next season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Ihsanullah will train at the Multan Sultans Academy in Lodhran under the supervision of fast bowling coach, Catherine Dalton.

Reflecting on the ongoing support, Ihsanullah stated, "Multan Sultans have always supported me, and I am grateful for their continuous backing."

Ali Tareen emphasized the importance of the young pacer, saying, "Ihsanullah is an asset to us and this country. We will provide all possible support to restore his full fitness and form."

Tareen further acknowledged the uniqueness of Ihsanullah's talent, adding, "Fast bowlers like Ihsanullah are born once in a generation. He needs protection, and Multan Sultans are committed to assisting the PCB in nurturing and developing world-class talent."

Ihsanullah was a standout performer in the eighth edition of PSL, where he played 12 matches, claiming 22 wickets at an average of 15.77 and an economy rate of 7.59.

However, after not being picked in the recent PSL 10 draft, the 22-year-old made headlines by announcing his retirement from the tournament in frustration.

"I just don't want to play franchise cricket anymore. It's over after today. I completely boycott it and retire from the PSL. I won't be seen in the PSL again. I want to represent Pakistan by performing in domestic cricket, not by playing in the PSL," he had said.

In a surprising turn, within 24 hours, Ihsanullah reversed his retirement decision, admitting that it was an emotional reaction.
