Taylor Swift donates to L.A. fire relief efforts: ‘So much suffering, loss, and destruction’
In response to the devastating California wildfires, Taylor Swift donates to relief efforts and encourages fans to join her in supporting those affected.
On Thursday, the singer posted a message on her Instagram story, expressing her sorrow over the destruction caused by the fires. Swift wrote, “The fires in California have devastated so many families, and it’s been heartbreaking to see these stories unfold. So much suffering, loss, and destruction.”
She continued by highlighting the ongoing efforts of various organizations and urged her followers to consider contributing. “As so many people embark on some of the most challenging times of their lives, there are also many amazing organizations and groups banding together to help these communities rebuild,” she said.
Swift shared a list of charities she has supported, including 211 LA, California Community Foundation Fund, Direct Relief, Greater Los Angeles Education Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, and the Pasadena Educational Foundation Eaton Fire Response Fund. She also encouraged others to donate if they are able to.
Swift’s donation adds to the growing wave of celebrity involvement in the California fire relief efforts. Other public figures such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Paris Hilton, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Eva Longoria have also contributed to aid those affected by the crisis.
The fires have already burned over 25,000 acres across areas like the Pacific Palisades, Malibu, and Altadena, with damages estimated to reach $250 billion. To further assist recovery efforts, a benefit concert, FireAid, is scheduled for January 30, 2025, featuring performances from major artists like Lady Gaga, Billie Eilish, and Joni Mitchell.
