JUI-F rebukes Gandapur for criticising Fazl
The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) hit back on Thursday at Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, calling him a failed politician, who conveniently lied on television screen to keep himself relevant on the political scene.
In a hard-hitting statement, JUI-F Spokesperson Aslam Ghori said that Gandapur's actual role was nothing more than a pawn planted to create discord among the opposition. He added that Gandapur was a cause of embarrassment for his own party's founder.
Earlier in the day, while talking to reporters after Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) delegation's talks with the government in Islamabad, Gandapur sharply criticised JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, saying that the JUI-F chief was of much lower stature than Imran Khan.
Referring to Fazl's claims of rigging in elections, Gandapur said that the JUI-F chief had been deceived. "You have definitely been cheated; the promises that were made to you were not fulfilled. Name those who have cheated you, and do not talk about us," Gandapur stated.
In response to the chief minister's harsh remarks, the JUI-F spokesperson said in a statement that Fazl had not been deceived, rather the PTI founder was deceived. Ghori warned that Gandapur had been given the task to divide the opposition, therefore, he bragged on the TV.
"Pawns like Ali Amin Gandapur are being used to divide the opposition, Ali Amin regularly apologises to the establishment in closed rooms and when comes out, starts bragging," the spokesperson said. He added that under Gandapur, corruption and looting of government resources was rife in K-P.
The spokesperson mocked the K-P chief minister for his escape from the PTI protest in Islamabad on November 26 in the wake of a government crackdown. "The person who left the workers alone in the D Chowk and ran away, can no longer talk about political ethics," the spokesperson stated.
