Fare hike annoys commuters
All transporters, online motorcycle services, Suzuki and Qingqi rickshaws operating in the city and the district on Thursday increased fares after the second consecutive increase in the prices of petroleum products.
On the other hand, the district administration and the transport authority observed silence over a one-sided increase, leaving the motorists in the hands of public transport to exploit.
The fares have been increased by Rs5 in the inner city and Rs10 per ride for suburban areas, which led to disputes between commuters and transporters. Fares from Raja Bazaar to Kachehri Chowk are Rs50, Morgah Rs70 and Rawat Rs90.
