Ellen DeGeneres debuts gray hair transformation during Montecito visit after move to England

Ellen DeGeneres showcases gray hair during a Montecito visit, reflecting her evolving post-showbiz journey.

Ellen DeGeneres has made a rare return to California after her reported move to England with wife Portia de Rossi. The former talk show host was recently spotted in Montecito, Calif., a familiar locale where the couple previously owned multiple homes.

During the Jan. 14 outing, DeGeneres unveiled a striking transformation, sporting gray hair in place of her signature blonde pixie cut. Her casual attire—a dark pullover, blue jeans, and white sneakers—reflected her laid-back style. This appearance, however, doesn’t signal a Hollywood comeback.

"After my Netflix special, I’m done,” DeGeneres, 66, told audiences during a comedy show in Santa Rosa, Calif., last July, as reported by SFGate. In her special "For Your Approval," released in September, she addressed the allegations of a toxic work environment at "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" and the subsequent fallout from the public spotlight. "I got kicked out of show business," she quipped. "You can't be mean and be in show business. No mean people in show business."

Now residing in rural England, DeGeneres and de Rossi, married since 2008, have embraced a quieter lifestyle. In November, the couple was seen enjoying a pub night with singer Natalie Imbruglia in Burford, a small town northwest of London. As shared in an Instagram video, the trio gathered at The Farmer’s Dog, a local pub owned by "Top Gear" alum Jeremy Clarkson.

Despite her move overseas, DeGeneres remains candid about her evolving look. Reflecting on her hair transformation during a past episode of her talk show, she shared how frequent dye jobs had once caused her hair to fall out. Now, with her gray locks on display, DeGeneres continues to redefine her public image while embracing a slower pace of life.
