KARACHI:

Strongly criticising K-Electric (KE) for subjecting Karachi's residents and businesses to prolonged loadshedding, Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) President Muhammad Jawed Bilwani urged the federal government to intervene in this pressing matter, stating that all efforts to provide relief in electricity bills by the government are at stake.

In a statement on Wednesday, the KCCI president said it was a sheer injustice to the citizens and business community of Karachi, who are unable to benefit from the recently announced 'Sasti Bijli Sahulat' package.

"The Sasti Bijli Sahulat package, introduced to provide relief amidst rising living and business costs, is a commendable step. However, owing to KE's excessive loadshedding, Karachi's residents and industries are being deprived of this much-needed benefit," Bilwani said.
