RAWALPINDI:

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder Imran Khan has urged the party leadership and workers to observe 'Black Day' on February 8 - the day that marks the first year since the 2024 general elections– and hold protests across the country.

In a meeting with his lawyers and party leaders on the sideline of the hearing of the GHQ attack case, the PTI founder directed the party's national and provincial assembly members to organize protests on February 8, sources said.

The PTI founder also barred the party leadership from making statements against Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, saying that the JUI-F chief and the PTI had similarity of views on the issues of Afghanistan and terrorism in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P).

Imran also directed the PTI leadership to take all opposition leaders, including Shahid Khan Abbasi and Miftah Ismael, into confidence. He expressed displeasure towards K-P Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and party's information secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram.

The sources quoted Imran as saying, "Shiekh Waqas is the party's information secretary not Gandapur's." He also asked the party leaders to convey his message to Gandapur to "come out of Dera Ismael Khan."
