LAHORE:

Opposition lawmakers in the Punjab Assembly on Tuesday protested the government's habitual delay in starting the House proceedings, raising slogans of "Aiwan Ko Izat Do" (Give Respect to the House).

The opposition criticised the government's non-serious attitude, accusing it of avoiding discussions on public issues.

Despite repeated requests to commence proceedings on time, the opposition claimed their efforts had gone unanswered.

Adding a touch of satire to their protest, the lawmakers mimicked Prime Minister Mian Shehbaz Sharif's recent humorous remark during an address, using the sound "Ooooooo" to highlight their frustration.

A heated exchange occurred between Provincial Information Minister Azma Zahid Bukhari and PTI lawmaker Nadeem Qureshi during the session.
