Admissions, exams schedule out for schools

There will be two phases of admissions in government schools.

RAWALPINDI:

After the re-opening of schools and educational institutions, the Punjab education department has released the schedule of educational activities, annual examinations and new admission policy from January 15 to May 31 in the Rawalpindi division.

According to an official circular, the new academic year session 2025-26 will start from April 1. Admissions to Junior Class Prep Nursery Class I will start on February 3.

Annual matriculation exams will start on March 4, Class IX exams on March 21, and Intermediate Annual Examinations will start from the first week of May.

There will be two phases of admissions in government schools. New admissions from Class I to Class II will kick off from April 1 to May 31. The second phase of admissions will be held from August 15 to October 31.

The annual exams for class I to class VIII will be held from March 12 to March 25. Annual examination results will be announced on March 31. Each class will have fresh admissions up to 10% of the total number. This will reduce the number of new admissions in government schools.

The president of All Pakistan Private Schools Management Association (APPSMA), Abrar Ahmad Khan says new admissions in private schools will start from February 1, while the annual examinations will also be held in February.

The new academic year in private schools will start in March.
