As the United States approaches the January 19 deadline for TikTok’s potential ban, Twitch star and influencer Imane ‘Pokimane’ Anys is advocating for users to embrace RedNote.

The Chinese app, described as a mix of Instagram, Pinterest, and TikTok, has surged to the top of Apple’s App Store as a growing number of users prepare for TikTok’s possible removal.

The ban hinges on ByteDance, TikTok’s Chinese parent company, selling its shares to comply with U.S. government demands. Thus far, ByteDance has refused, even hinting at shutting down operations in the U.S. if forced to comply, leaving TikTok creators and fans scrambling for alternatives.

Pokimane, a prominent content creator known for her Twitch streams and diverse social media presence, has thrown her support behind RedNote. In a tweet on January 14, she called the platform a “better version of Pinterest,” adding that it’s about time users embraced its functionality. She also shared her RedNote handle, where she has already garnered 1.9K followers.

Pokimane’s endorsement highlights her adaptability as an influencer, leveraging platforms like RedNote with bilingual content to engage both domestic and international audiences. Her move reflects the growing interest in Xiaohongshu, which offers a visually rich, interactive experience akin to TikTok.

As the TikTok ban deadline looms, RedNote’s rapid rise suggests it could become a primary alternative for short-form video creators, with Pokimane leading the charge as one of its early adopters.
