PCB appoints former spinner Abdur Rehman as spin bowling coach
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has appointed former left-arm spinner Abdur Rehman as the national team's spin bowling coach, Express News reported.
Rehman has already joined the Pakistan squad in Multan ahead of the upcoming series against the West Indies. His role will focus on enhancing the performance of spinners Nauman Ali, Sajid Khan, and Abrar Ahmed, who are considered key players on spin-friendly pitches.
“These three bowlers could be Pakistan’s trump cards on spin wickets,” a PCB official said.
The Pakistan cricket team, led by Shan Masood, is currently in Multan, preparing for the first of two Test matches against the West Indies, scheduled to start on January 17 as part of the ICC Test Championship.
The national selection committee has named a 15-member Test squad for the series, featuring three spinners: Nauman Ali, Abrar Ahmed, and Sajid Khan.
Former left-arm orthodox spinner Abdur Rehman, who claimed 140 wickets for Pakistan across Tests, ODIs, and T20Is between 2006 and 2014, has joined the team in Multan.
