Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has stated that the economy was severely damaged during the previous government led by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Speaking at a Federal Cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif mentioned that a remarkable conference on women's education had recently been held in Pakistan, which was well-prepared by the Minister of Education, Secretary of Education, Minister of Information, and others.
The conference saw participation from the Secretary-General of the OIC and ministers of education from various countries.
He said that Pakistan faces significant challenges regarding women's education, with around 22.8 million children not attending school, the majority of whom are girls.
He stressed that the provinces have a vital role to play in addressing these challenges, and the federal government must work with the provinces to overcome these hurdles in the education sector.
PM Shehbaz also mentioned that an emergency had been declared in the education sector a few months ago. He urged the Minister of Education to coordinate with the provinces to remove the obstacles in education, which would be a major effort.
He added that PIA's flights to Europe have resumed, with the first flight to Paris recently launched, marking a significant achievement.
Unfortunately, a few years ago, the then Minister of Aviation from the previous government made a speech in Parliament that contributed to the economic damage of Pakistan, resulting in adverse effects on the country and its travelers.
The PM also highlighted that after many years, all restrictions are being lifted, and flights to the UK are expected soon. He congratulated Minister of Defense Khawaja Asif, his team, and everyone involved in this achievement.
He mentioned the opening of a new crossing on the Pakistan-Iran border in Panjgur, which will promote legal trade and curb smuggling. He thanked the brotherly country of Iran for its significant role in this.
In Kurram, the situation is returning to normal after a major setback due to a peace agreement, with bunkers being dismantled, and food and medicine are being provided.
The PM further stated that operations against the Khorij faction are ongoing under the leadership of Pakistan's Army Chief. Recently, 27 terrorists were killed in an intelligence-based operation in Balochistan.
Operations are continuing in other areas as well. He emphasized that these sacrifices will ultimately eradicate the Khorij threat and restore the peace Pakistan had under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif in 2018.
The PM also mentioned that the Ministry of Energy had briefed the cabinet, and a task force is working efficiently on the matter.
The meeting's agenda includes discussions on the right-sizing of federal institutions, the proposal to place the Aviation Division under the Ministry of Defense, and the merger of the Narcotics Division into the Ministry of Interior. The decisions of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) will also be ratified.
