North-easterly winds bring chill to the city

Wind speeds were higher in coastal and suburban areas of the city.

KARACHI:

Stronger than usual north-easterly winds prevailed in the city on Monday, with a speed of 27 kilometre per hour. Visibility was reduced to 1500 metres due to fog in the morning.

Under the light intensity system of westerly winds that entered in the country earlier, the city experienced slightly stronger winds than normal on Monday morning.

The maximum speed recorded at the official weather station was 27 kilometres per hour. Wind speeds were higher in coastal and suburban areas of the city.

In the morning, the visibility was reduced from six kilometres to 1.5 kilometres due to fog in the city. The city recorded a minimum of 10.5 degrees Celsius while a maximum of 26 degrees Centigrade.

According to the forecast of the Early Warning Centre of the Meteorological Department, the weather is expected to remain dry and cold in the city for the next few days.

During this period, northeast and east winds are expected to prevail. The weather will be cold throughout the province, while the districts of Larkana, Tharparkar and Umarkot will be very cold and dry, and there is a possibility of fog in the upper and central districts at night and early in the morning.
