Coldplay's Chris Martin calls Pakistani fan onstage
In a video circulating on social media, Coldplay's Chris Martin invited a fan from Pakistan onstage during a concert. He also won hearts for acknowledging tragedies around the world and dedicating the next song to all those affected by them.
"You travelled 10,000 kilometres," he acknowledged, addressing the fan. "I travelled yesterday from Los Angeles and as I left, everything was on fire and it was a very strange thing. So maybe we could sing this song for your brothers and sisters in Pakistan and our brothers and sisters in Iran, the West Bank, and Gaza."
He further shared that he would also be dedicating the song to his friend Zeppelin, adding that the track is about missing someone you hold dear. "This is Everglow. This is for you, Kinza. Thank you for coming," he expressed, receiving a final bout of applause for the speech before he began his performance.
Earlier, Martin also struck a crossover moment when he read a fan's poster, which contained Diljit Dosanjh's iconic words, "Punjabi aa gaye oye." (The Punjabis have arrived.) The clip was shared by Dosanjh's handle on Instagram Stories with the text, "Chris Martin reading Coldplay fan posters and flags is so wholesome."
The concert spirit has been running high for the band, who lit up the stage in Abu Dhabi. "You're a sky full of stars, Abu Dhabi. Thank you for another beautiful night," the band wrote on Instagram Stories.
Under a magical carousel of photos from the show, fans were wonderstruck by yet another dazzling performance by the musical group. Love flooded the comments section, as did melancholy. "Those images make me remember what it feels like. Coldplay is an extra sensory experience. We wish to have you again in my country," a fan hoped.
"My loves, what a magnificent show! you are always wonderful and bring joy and love to us. I love you," another fan gushed. Harking back on the show, a user sweetly recalled, "It was an amazing and unforgettable experience." Others thanked the band for making their dreams come true with the concert, highlighting just how enchanting their stage performances are.
"Thank you Coldplay your music, values, love, acceptance, humility, talent, and being the voice we need most to hear in this world of chaos, is widely appreciated all around our globe," a fan poignantly put. Additionally, passionate requests filled the comments section, pleading with the band to visit other countries and cities. Echoes of "London", "Brazil", and "Mexico" stood out against many others.
