Squid Game's Gong yoo and The glory's Song Hye Kyo to star in $546 million budget drama

Gong Yoo and Song Hye Kyo to star in new drama 'Slowly, Intensely' with an eye-watering half-a-billion dollar budget.

Gong Yoo and Song Hye Kyo are set to star alongside each in a new production tentatively titled Slowly, Intensely which is a 22-episode series with a production budget estimated to exceed 700 billion KRW (approximately 546 million USD).

Set in the 1960s and 1970s broadcast industry, the drama is written by writer Noh Hee Kyung who will be working with Song for the third time, following their collaborations in the 2008 KBS 2TV drama Worlds Within and the 2013 SBS drama That Winter, the Wind Blows.

Appearing on the tvN variety show You Quiz on the Block Song Hye Kyo revealed that she cut her hair into a bob for her latest project on which she is working with Noh Hee Kyung. She also mentioned how deep her bond with the writer goes as they exchange advice on self-love and gratitude.

Song Hye Kyo will share the screen with Gong Yoo, who reunites with director Lee Yoon Jung for Slowly, Intensely after collaborating on the 2007 MBC drama Coffee Prince

The drama which has begun filming aims to complete production in the first half of this year with a subsequent release on Netflix.
