Strong winds increase cold intensity in Karachi
Strong winds in Karachi have significantly increased the intensity of the cold weather in the city.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the minimum temperature recorded today was 10.5°C.
However, the temperature is expected to range between 9°C and 11°C in the coming days.
The PMD has forecast that the weather in Karachi will remain cold and dry over the next 24 hours, with intermittent strong winds expected to continue.
The northeastern winds in the city are blowing at a speed of 20 km/h, and the humidity level in the air stands at 65%.
On Sunday, the port city saw one of its coldest mornings of the season, with the minimum temperature dropping to 9.8°C.
The PMD indicated that the city could face even colder conditions, as winds from the northwest are expected to reduce temperatures further.
The minimum mercury level could touch 9°C today, exacerbating the chill.
The maximum temperature in Karachi is expected to peak at 28°C, while the minimum is predicted to hover around 9°C.
Mild fog has also affected visibility, reducing it to just three kilometers. Northeastern winds are blowing at speeds of 5 to 20 km/h, further contributing to the cold and dry conditions.
A notable drop in temperatures occurred overnight, with the minimum temperature recorded at 12°C on Saturday.
Karachiites have been advised to prepare for even colder mornings as the winter chill deepens, with stronger winds contributing to the dip in temperatures.
