Aubrey Plaza has deleted her Instagram account just one week after the devastating death of her husband, filmmaker Jeff Baena, at the age of 47.

Previously active on social media, Plaza’s Instagram now displays the message, “Sorry, this page isn’t available.”

Baena’s official cause of death has been reported as suicide, according to medical examiner records obtained by Us Weekly. No further details or suspicious circumstances surrounding his passing have been released.

Plaza, 40, and Baena were together for 14 years before tying the knot in 2020. Reflecting on their spontaneous wedding, Plaza shared in a 2021 interview with Ellen DeGeneres that they decided to marry during the COVID-19 lockdown. “We got a little bored one night,” Plaza recalled, adding that they used a website called Onehourmarriage.com for the ceremony, which she described as informal yet meaningful.

In the days following Baena’s death, Plaza’s representative released a statement on her behalf, calling the loss an “unimaginable tragedy” and thanking supporters for their kindness. Plaza also requested privacy for herself and her family during this difficult time.

In a 2022 interview, Plaza mentioned that their marriage had garnered some unwanted attention from fans, with Baena even receiving death threats in his DMs, an experience she described as part of the overwhelming public reaction to their relationship.
