Senator Faisal Vawda has spoken out against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, accusing him of being warned about the consequences of his actions, including legal ramifications and potential jail time.

Speaking at a press conference at the Karachi Press Club, Vawda recalled advising Imran Khan about the 190 million-pound deal approval, saying, “I warned Imran Khan that a case would be filed, and he would face a prison sentence. I had already predicted that this case would result in a penalty.”

Vawda also criticised delays in legal proceedings, claiming PTI’s leadership had been propagating misinformation.

“There is a punishment for every crime. No one will accept that others benefited from this; you will have to face the consequences," he added.

He further discussed the internal rifts within PTI, claiming that Imran Khan’s own party members were plotting against him.

“For two and a half years, I have been warning that Khan’s relatives are conspiring against him in jail, and now these issues are surfacing on social media," Vawda said.

He warned that any further incidents could have political consequences that would last for decades.

Vawda also touched on Imran Khan’s leadership, stating that his popularity should not lead him to believe he is untouchable.

“Just because Imran Khan has become popular, it does not mean he should consider himself untouchable. His life is at risk, and his own people are a danger to him,” he said.

The Senator expressed his concern over the political situation, referring to the May 9 protests that challenged the state’s authority. “Khan’s actions on that day were aimed at undermining the state and its institutions. I had warned that people in power were only interested in keeping Imran Khan locked away,” he stated.

Vawda also addressed the political climate in Pakistan, stressing the need for genuine negotiations. He said, “There is no room for backdoor diplomacy. This is a fight we must face directly. Pakistan needs honest leadership and transparent negotiations for the sake of the people.”

Discussing national security, Vawda emphasised the sacrifices made by Pakistan’s military and law enforcement. “Our soldiers have paid the ultimate price. Now, Pakistan is poised to play a prominent role in the region, with international recognition of the sacrifices made by our security forces,” he remarked.

Vawda also highlighted the shifting international perspective, noting that while there may be some external pressure, the world’s focus is now on Pakistan rather than Khan. “The international winds are blowing in Pakistan's favour. No external pressure is currently influencing us, and there is much more to come,” he added.

As for the political instability, Vawda dismissed claims of backdoor deals within the government and PTI, insisting that the political process remains transparent. "If backdoor deals were happening, why are they still standing with their begging bowl?" he questioned.

Finally, Vawda reiterated his personal commitment to Khan’s well-being, stating that he would do everything in his power to ensure his safety, even if it meant going to great lengths to help him. "If Khan needs a glass of water, I will be the one to bring it to him, no matter the time of day,” he concluded.
