KARACHI:

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Governor Faisal Karim Kundi on Saturday slammed the PTI-led provincial government, accusing it of incompetence in managing security and governance.

Addressing a news conference at the Karachi Press Club, the K-P governor stated that the province had fallen into the hands of "incompetent individuals", leading to widespread insecurity.

"K-P has fallen into the hands of incompetent and incapable leaders. A government has come to power that is leading the province towards unrest," Kundi said.

He added that when tourists are not allowed to visit the province it is a clear indication that the situation is deteriorating.

The governor took aim at K-P Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, asserting that his priorities were misplaced. He said that the CM appeared more focused on the release of PTI founder Imran Khan than on addressing the worsening security conditions in the province.

He also rejected the idea of imposing the governor's rule, calling it undemocratic. "Governor rule is not a democratic process. We are ready to engage in dialogue for peace with anyone," he stated.

He also highlighted the worsening situation in Kurram where armed groups have established hundreds of bunkers.

"The process of collecting weapons in Kurram has begun but it will take time. If anyone refuses to cooperate then stricter measures will have to be taken.
