Five terrorists neutralised in DIK IBO

President, PM praise bravery of security forces

Five terrorists were killed in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Maddi area of Dera Ismail Khan district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced on Friday.

The military's media wing said that the operation was launched based on reports of terrorist presence. Among the dead was their ring leader, Shafiullah, who was involved in heinous attacks on security forces and the targeted killing of civilians.

"On 10 January 2024, Security Forces conducted an intelligence based operation in general area Maddi, Dera Ismail Khan District on reported presence of khwarij. Own troops effectively engaged khwarij's location, resultantly, five khwarij including Kharji ring leader Shafiullah@Shafi, were sent to hell," it said.

"Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from killed khwarij, who remained actively involved in terrorist activities against security forces as well as target killing of innocent civilians. Sanitization operation is being carried out to eliminate any other Kharji found in the area, as security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country."

President Asif Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in their separate messages, praised the security forces for killing five terrorists during the operation. They appreciated the bravery of the security forces during successful IBOs.

"The security forces are conducting operations to eliminate the menace of terrorism. The entire nation is united against terrorism. The operations against Fitna-al-Khawarij will continue until the complete elimination of terrorism," the president said.

Prime Minister Shehbaz also praised the professional skills of the officers and personnel participating in the operation. "We will continue the war against the scourge of terrorism until its complete elimination from the country," he said.
