Scottish actor Rory McCann, widely recognized for his role as The Hound in Game of Thrones, has been confirmed as the replacement for the late Ray Stevenson in Disney+’s Ahsoka. McCann will take on the role of Baylan Skoll, a former Jedi who became a formidable antagonist in the series' first season.

Ray Stevenson, beloved for his resonant voice and memorable performances in Rome, Punisher: War Zone, and the Thor films, tragically passed away in May 2023, shortly before Ahsoka premiered. His portrayal of Baylan Skoll quickly became a fan favorite, leaving big shoes for McCann to fill.

Season 1 of Ahsoka featured Rosario Dawson as the titular former Jedi, Ahsoka Tano, navigating her quest to prevent the Empire’s resurgence. Baylan Skoll and his apprentice, Shin Hati (played by Ivanna Sakhno), served as formidable obstacles on her journey.

McCann brings a wealth of experience to the role, with notable credits including Hot Fuzz, Jumanji: The Next Level, Transformers: EarthSpark, and the upcoming Gladiator II. His ability to portray complex, larger-than-life characters makes him a fitting choice for the enigmatic and powerful Skoll.

Details on the production timeline and directors for Season 2 remain under wraps. Dave Filoni, the creative force behind Season 1, will return as showrunner.
