Man's millions stolen by daughter, boyfriend in Pindi
In an unusual theft case in Rawalpindi's City Police Station area, a woman, in collaboration with her boyfriend, stole her father's cash and jewellery worth millions from their own home. The police acted swiftly, uncovering the staged robbery and arresting the couple. A total of Rs8.1 million in cash was recovered, and the couple had been planning to flee the country after committing the crime.
According to the details, the 20-year-old daughter, Sehar Azeem, was involved in the theft at her home in Ittehad Colony.
The robbery was reported by Abdul Azeem Bhatti, a recovery officer at a private gas company. He informed the police that he had approximately Rs9.5 million stored in his wardrobe. He had gone to the bank, leaving his daughter at home. Upon returning, he found the door open, and his daughter was unconscious on the floor with her hands and feet bound.
After reviving her with water, she claimed that an unknown woman had sprayed something on her face around 10am, causing her to lose consciousness. When they checked the room, they found that the cash and two gold chains were missing.
Rawalpindi SP, Muhammad Haseeb, along with City DSP Syed Azhar Shah, held a press conference, revealing that upon receiving the information, the police had registered a case and formed investigation teams. The police started their inquiry by reviewing CCTV footage and using technical resources.
The footage showed a woman's hand and sweater, leading the police to investigate further. During the investigation, the police questioned the daughter, Sehar Azeem, who confessed that she, in collusion with her 22-year-old boyfriend, Fahad, a local welder, had planned the theft. The couple was arrested, and Rs8.1 million in cash were recovered.
