PPP leader Karamullah Waqasi named in case for firing on businessman, injuring him.

KARACHI:

The Tipu Sultan police have registered a case against PPP's parliamentary leader in KMC Karamullah Waqasi for firing on a businessman and injuring him seriously. The case was filed by businessman Faraz Khan, son of Muhammad Khan.

In the FIR, Inspector Iqbal Mehmood initially said in his statement, "I reached the emergency ward of Jinnah Hospital and found a person, identified as Faraz Khan, was brought to Jinnah Hospital with injuries."

Injured Faraz Khan informed the police that he was coming home from Burns Road on January 5, 2025 in his car. "I slowed down my car near Shell Pump in Sindh Muslim Housing Society, Block B, due to a speed breaker. The time was round 7:00am. At the same time, four persons on two motorcycles coming from behind suddenly started firing at me. As a result, bullets hit my car while a bullet pierced through my right cheek and exited from the back of the neck. People gathered after the firing while the shooters fled on their bikes.

Faraz mentioned in his statement saying, "Some time ago, in the presence of my partner Tariq and others, Karamullah Waqasi, Mazhar and Mansoor Shah borrowed Rs98.7 million from me at different times for some projects. When I demanded my money, they threatened to kill me.

"At the same time, all these people called me to Islamabad and instead of returning my money, they told me not to 'play sharp' otherwise I may lose my life. After that I kept demanding money from these people through mobile phone calls but these people kept threatening to kill me. I doubt that the attack was carried out by these three with the intention of killing me."

After recording the statement of the plaintiff, the police registered a case and handed over the FIR to the investigation department.
