RAWALPINDI:

The Saddar Beruni police apprehended 25 suspects for failing to comply with tenancy registration requirements during an operation.

According to sources, those arrested include Iqbal, Rehan, Dildar, Bakht, Farrukh, Alauddin, Yaseen, Qasim, Abid, Basheer, Wali Muhammad, Samad, Sagar, Adnan, Anwar, Abdul Malik, Sajjad, Ghaffar, Ibrahim, Daulat Khan, Burhan, Jawad, Sabir, Javed, and Safee.

Tenants and property owners were taken into custody for not ensuring proper documentation as required under the law.

Saddar Division SP Muhammad Nabeel Khokhar stated that the purpose of the search operation was to keep a close watch on criminal and law-breaking elements and ensure they are held accountable.

He urged citizens to comply with the legal requirement of tenancy registration. The same police encountered armed resistance while attempting to arrest a suspect wanted in a murder case.

However, authorities managed to apprehend two individuals accused of aiding the suspect's escape.

Police also recovered weapons, vehicles, and a police revolving light during the operation. According to officials, Saddar Beroni police conducted a raid and arrested two suspects, Suleman and Sarmad, who allegedly assisted the main accused, Hammad, in evading arrest.

The recovered items included a Kalashnikov, a pistol, and two vehicles—a Vigo and a Land Cruiser—both equipped with a police-style revolving light.

The raid was carried out following a tip-off about the suspect's presence. During the operation, Suleman and Sarmad helped the suspect flee the scene.
