Increase bandwidth, PTA asks ministry

Pakistan needed to increase its bandwidth capacity to cope with the more frequent use of the virtual private networks (VPNs), the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) said in a report to the information technology ministry on Friday.

According to sources, The PTA completed its investigation into the issue of slow internet. They said that the report detailed the problems encountered on networks by telecom operators.

The sources said that some telecom firms faced problems relating to the social media and web browsing, adding that

the blockade of X was also an issue.
