More cases of attacks on police registered

Cases of these attacks were registered at the Soldier Bazaar police station.

More cases of attacks on police during the violent protests around the Numaish Chowrangi on the night between Tuesday and Wednesday have come to fore.

As per reports, unidentified men attacked Abdul Khaliq Ansari, former SHO and current in-charge of the Police Rehab Centre, and his bodyguard. A cop's mobile phone was damaged in the attack that took place near Numaish Chowrangi.

The arsonists tortured both Ansari and his bodyguard.

In another incident, Sub-Inspector Saqib and Constable Junaid were injured when unidentified men attacked them with sticks. They were shifted to the Civil Hospital.

Meanwhile, unidentified miscreants targeted two police vehicles near Numaish Chowrangi, including the official mobile of Kharadar DSP Chaudhry Shabbir. Stones were hurled at the vehicles, causing damage.

Cases of these attacks were registered at the Soldier Bazaar police station.

Police have obtained CCTV footage of the attacks and launched legal proceedings to identify and arrest the culprits.

Sindh government had deployed police to clear the roads of sit-ins by the Majlis Wahdatul Muslimeen.
