New Zealand all-rounder Michael Bracewell has officially signed up for the player draft for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025, which is set to take place in Gwadar on January 11, 2025.
The announcement was made by the PSL through their official social media channels, showcasing the Kiwi cricketer’s involvement with a banner that read, “Michael Bracewell, ready to bring the Kiwi spirit to the PSL Draft.”
At 33, Bracewell has made significant contributions to New Zealand's T20I team. He has played in 27 T20I matches, amassing 259 runs at a strike rate of 129.50, including two half-centuries.
With the ball, he has taken 28 wickets at an average of 18.28 and an economy rate of 6.93, showcasing his all-round abilities.
Bracewell has also built a strong franchise cricket portfolio, participating in Major League Cricket, the Vitality Blast, and the Indian Premier League (IPL). His IPL career includes five matches for Royal Challengers Bangalore, where he scored 58 runs and took six wickets.
Bracewell is the seventh Kiwi player and the 29th foreign cricketer overall to register for the PSL 10 draft, which will be held in Balochistan for the first time. The draft will see teams like Lahore Qalandars, Karachi Kings, Quetta Gladiators, Peshawar Zalmi, Multan Sultans, and Islamabad United competing for top picks.
The player draft for PSL 10 will kick off with Lahore Qalandars making the first pick in the platinum category, followed by Karachi Kings, Quetta Gladiators, Peshawar Zalmi, Multan Sultans, and Islamabad United, respectively.
A list of international players already registered for the draft includes Michael Bracewell, Mark Chapman, Jason Holder, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Chris Lynn, Adam Milne, David Warner, Tim Southee, Martin Guptill, Rassie van der Dussen, Matthew Short, Gudakesh Motie, Alex Hales, Luke Wood, Sean Abbott, Alex Carey, Usman Khawaja, Corbin Bosh, Rilee Rossouw, Colin Munro, Daryl Mitchell, Tom Kohler-Cadmore, Tom Curran, David Willey, Dawid Malan, Jason Roy, Shakib Al Hasan, Mustafizur Rahman, and Sikandar Raza.
