Edhi ambulances transported 942 bodies in 2024

Edhi Foundation Lahore has released its annual performance report for 2024.

The report revealed that the organisation provided ambulance services for 123,962 patients and deceased individuals throughout the year.

According to the Edhi spokesperson, the foundation transported 942 deceased victims of various accidents to different locations. Additionally, 3,872 injured individuals were shifted to hospitals.

The foundation also facilitated the transfer of 31,610 deceased individuals from hospitals to their homes. For unclaimed bodies, Edhi Foundation arranged the burial of 579 individuals, while 498 were given ritual bathing and shrouding at Edhi mortuaries.

Under its biometric identification programme, the foundation identified 620 bodies found across the city.
