A new generational cohort, Generation Beta, will begin with babies born in 2025 and span until 2039, marking the successor to Generation Alpha (2010–2024).
Australian research firm McCrindle predicts Gen Beta will constitute 16% of the global population by 2035, with many expected to witness the 22nd century. "We named them Alpha and Beta to signify not just new generations, but the first generations that will be shaped by an entirely different world," McCrindle stated.
Experts believe Gen Beta will grow up amidst rapid technological evolution, climate challenges, and shifting societal dynamics. Analysts predict their digital and physical worlds will be "seamless," driven by advancements in artificial intelligence and technology integration.
"Generation Beta will live in an era where AI and automation are fully embedded in everyday life — from education and workplaces to health care and entertainment," McCrindle wrote.
They are also expected to be the first generation to experience autonomous transportation "at scale," alongside wearable health technologies and immersive virtual environments.
Their formative years will focus heavily on personalisation, with AI tailoring education, shopping, and social interactions. "The balance between hyper-connectivity and personal expression will define them," McCrindle said, emphasising how they will blend in-person relationships with global digital communities.
Experts anticipate that Generation Beta's upbringing in a world of "always-on technology" will reshape notions of belonging and redefine social connections.
