Prince William and Princess Kate hope for brighter 2025 after tough year

Prince William and Princess Kate have endured one of their most difficult years in 2024, as both King Charles and Kate were diagnosed with cancer just months apart.

This news understandably affected their three children—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. However, the young royals have been a great source of comfort and support to their mother during her chemotherapy and recovery process.

With Princess Kate now confirming that her treatment has been completed, 2025 is expected to bring a return to normalcy for the royal family. Royal expert Ingrid Seward believes that William and Kate may express their gratitude to their children for their resilience throughout this challenging time.

In an interview with Hello! magazine, Seward commented, “Kate will be wanting to spoil them a bit, because it's very frightening for children when their parents are that ill, so I think they will be up for a few treats this year.” She speculated that the family could take a skiing trip during the Easter holidays and plan a big summer vacation, as they didn’t travel much in 2024.

Seward also highlighted the more hands-on approach William and Kate have taken in parenting, ensuring that their children’s lives remain as private as possible, especially in the digital age. She noted, “They are cautious about exposing the children to too much scrutiny,” and pointed out that the children, who are close in age, have been “bound by the situation they're in and they're all in it together.”

While no official plans have been announced for 2025, Kate’s recent public appearances suggest a positive shift. Her participation in the Christmas Carol concert in December marked her first major event since completing treatment, and she followed it with an appearance at the annual Christmas Day church walk, signaling a return to her royal duties and the start of a promising year ahead.
