ISLAMABAD:
The electricity shortfall in the country on Tuesday fell slightly to 3,873 megawatts (MW) from 3,904MW, as the total power generation was recorded at 14,426MW against the demand of 18,299MW during the last 24 hours. According to the brief on daily power generation and load-management position, the hydel generation stood at 6,673MW, Wapda thermal 1,738MW, IPPs 5,881MW and rental 134MW. As many as 630MW were supplied to Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC), the report said. Tarbela and Mangla dams have attained their maximum conservation level of 1,550 feet and 1,210 feet, respectively, it said. The hydel generation witnessed a sharp increase and stood at 6,673MW owing to the increased outflow from mega reservoirs.
