SC judge proposes idea of Judicial Silk Route

ISLAMABAD:

Supreme Court's senior puisne judge Syed Mansoor Ali Shah has said Pakistan and the judiciary of other South Asian countries need to learn and adopt alternative dispute resolution systems.

Speaking at a seminar, Justice Shah proposed the establishment of a new "Judicial Silk Route" to connect the South Asian countries. He highlighted the similarities between Pakistan and China, including traditional practices like the jirga system and reconciliation methods.

He said the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) disputes should be resolved through alternative dispute resolution (ARD) mechanisms.
