Human traffickers' gang busted

Yasir Shaukat was facilitating illegal migration by exploiting vulnerable citizens

LAHORE:

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Gujranwala Zone has uncovered a well-organised human trafficking gang involved in illegally sending individuals abroad through dangerous routes, often referred to as "dunkis."

During a raid on a warehouse in Gujrat, the FIA Composite Circle arrested the gang's alleged ringleader, Yasir Shaukat.

According to the FIA spokesperson, Yasir Shaukat was facilitating illegal migration by exploiting vulnerable citizens. Initially, he sent individuals to Saudi Arabia on Umrah visas, later transferring them to Libya and Egypt. From there, his network arranged for border crossings into Europe via hazardous boat journeys.
