Kate Cassidy, girlfriend of the late Liam Payne, has reportedly agreed to assist Argentinian police in their ongoing investigation into the pop star’s tragic death. Payne, 31, passed away on October 16 after falling from the third floor of a Buenos Aires hotel.
Cassidy, 25, who was with Payne just two days before his untimely demise, is not under investigation. Instead, she will provide a witness statement to help authorities gain insight into Payne's final days.
A source close to Cassidy revealed, “She wants the right people to be brought to justice. She tried for a long time to help him get clean and is still haunted by what happened. Anyone who provided drugs to Liam should be prosecuted.”
Payne’s death, caused by "multiple traumatic injuries" resulting in severe internal and external hemorrhaging, has sparked intense scrutiny. Toxicology reports revealed traces of alcohol, cocaine, and prescription antidepressants in his system, according to the Argentinian National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor's Office.
Police are reportedly focusing on several individuals, including Payne’s friend, Roger Nores, who denies claims of abandoning Payne before the incident. Nores stated, “I never abandoned Liam. I left the hotel 40 minutes before this happened, and he was in good spirits.”
Other suspects, including a former hotel employee and alleged dealer, have so far exercised their right to remain silent during questioning.
