Laura Loomer threatens MAGA boycott targeting Elon Musk, Indian tech workers, and H-1B visa policies
Laura Loomer, a fervent supporter of Trump and self-proclaimed "proud Islamophobe," has threatened to urge MAGA supporters to "stay home" during the next midterm elections. This comes as her feud with Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy intensifies over Silicon Valley's preference for hiring foreign-born workers.
Loomer has been vocal on social media for several days, criticizing President-elect Donald Trump's decision to appoint Indian-American entrepreneur Sriram Krishnan as a senior policy adviser for AI. She expressed outrage over Krishnan's support for H-1B visas, which facilitate the hiring of Indian immigrants.
Amid the Trump administration's pledge to curb immigration, Loomer has launched attacks on Indian workers, which critics have labeled as racist. Following Krishnan's appointment, she described it as "deeply disturbing" and referred to workers from India as "third-world invaders." Loomer also criticized Musk and Ramaswamy for defending the recruitment of "super talented engineers" from abroad.
"The average IQ in India is 76," Loomer tweeted, alongside several other derogatory comments about Indians and their country.
Loomer's criticisms have also targeted Musk, whom she called a “stage 5 clinger.” She questioned whether the DOGE government efficiency advisory committee, co-chaired by Musk and Ramaswamy, would genuinely aim to “cut spending” or instead divert funds to benefit "tech billionaires' pet projects."
Musk has dismissed Loomer as a "troll" unworthy of attention. Loomer retaliated by suggesting that the X (formerly Twitter) owner might soon lose favor with Trump.
Loomer’s disapproval of Krishnan heightened after old comments surfaced in which Krishnan suggested Musk consider removing caps on green cards for skilled immigrants. According to Loomer, tech entrepreneurs like Krishnan want foreign students to "come to the US and take jobs that should be given to American STEM students."
Her remarks grew increasingly bigoted and offensive after an Indian immigrant criticized her opposition to high-skilled immigration as "fundamentally anti-American."
